Dr. Harmon is a board-certified naturopathic physician licensed in the state of Washington. She can provide in-person or telemedicine appointments to clients in Washington interested in Naturopathic Medicine. For NEW CLIENTS, please select "NEW PATIENT VISIT" when booking your appointment. A new patient appointment is required to establish care.
By Appointment Only
Fees For Services
Insurance & Superbills
We are an out-of-network, cash-based practice and do not bill insurance directly. We are happy to provide you with a superbill after your appointment, which includes the appropriate procedure and diagnosis codes. You may submit the superbill to your insurance company to request reimbursement. Insurance reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on the benefits and out-of-network coverage included in your individual health insurance plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider before your first visit to determine whether naturopathic or acupuncture services are eligible for reimbursement. Operating outside of the insurance model allows us to provide a higher level of personalized, comprehensive care without the limitations of insurance-based care.
Laboratory Testing & Diagnostic Imaging
When appropriate, laboratory testing ordered through Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp, and imaging orders, may be billed to your health insurance. For patients with Medicare, naturopathic doctors are not authorized Medicare providers and therefore cannot order Medicare-covered laboratory testing. Dr. Harmon can, however, recommend appropriate labs for you to discuss with and have ordered through your primary care provider. We are happy to review and interpret those results with you as part of your care.
Appointment Fees
Follow-Up Visits: $225/hour
New Patient Visits: $255/hour
Follow-up appointments are available in 30, 45, 60, and 90-minute sessions. New patient appointments are 60 or 90 minutes, depending on your needs. Payment is due at the time of your appointment. We accept credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, cash, and check. A credit card is securely stored on file when you book your appointment and is charged after your visit. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, please contact us directly to schedule: (360) 230-8170
Non-Visit Clinical Services
Your care sometimes requires clinical work outside of a scheduled appointment. To keep our practice accessible and sustainable, time spent providing individualized clinical care outside of an appointment is billed separately.
Examples include:
-
Ordering laboratory testing
-
Ordering imaging or other diagnostic testing
-
Medication adjustments or prescribing outside of a scheduled visit
-
Writing letters or medical documentation
-
Completing forms or other paperwork
-
Responding to urgent clinical questions by phone, text, or patient portal when individualized medical guidance is needed
These services are billed at $56 per 15 minutes of clinical time.
Because these services are provided outside of a scheduled appointment, they are not submitted to insurance and are the patient's responsibility. We will let you know when a request requires additional clinical time and will confirm the applicable fee whenever possible.
Communication & Scheduling
To keep overhead—and therefore healthcare costs—as low as possible, Dr. Harmon does not have front desk or administrative staff. This allows her to devote more of your visit and your fees directly to your care.
For existing patients, we prefer communication through the Charm patient portal. Prospective patients are welcome to contact us by email or text. We appreciate your using the online booking system whenever possible as this increases our efficiency. We ask for a CC to place on file at the time of booking as this speeds up our check out process. Your card will NOT be charged until after your visit. If you would prefer to pay with cash or check, please send us an email or txt the office to request an appt. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain a streamlined practice that keeps the focus where it belongs: on you and your health.

Why "Veratrum"?
Veratrum, or, "False Hellebore", also known as "Li Lu" (藜芦) in the Chinese materia medica can be seen with its beautiful, broad leaves in alpine regions from the Rockies to the Cascades. There are over 25 species of this plant worldwide, mostly in the Northern Hemisphere. Veratrum is HIGHLY toxic*. It's a source of potent alkaloids, some of which have been used in traditional medicine for their emetic (induces vomiting to clear toxins), hypotensive, and cardiac depressant properties. In Chinese Medicine, it is described as cold, acrid, and bitter, and used to treat Wind-Phlegm conditions and parasites. The word "veratrum" comes from latin and means "truly black" which describes the color of the root. "Ver" means truth in latin. I like to interpret this as finding the true root cause of disease, which is how I approach medicine as a doctor. This toxic plant is meant to be respected, just like our bodies and their symptoms.
The vision for this clinic came to me like most good ideas do -- while on a long bike ride. I wanted to create a holistic practice that integrated all that I had gleaned from not only YEARS of schooling and continuing education, but also from my own experience as someone with complex chronic illness, many sports injuries, and certain genetic obstacles. I want to share with my community that you are not your diagnosis. There are always some variables within your control. I want to work with motivated individuals and to share what I have learned both as doctor and patient.
*Please, DO NOT ingest any part of the Veratrum Plant without the guidance of a trained herbalist. You can enjoy their beauty from a distance.

Who We Are

JUNIP "JUNEBUG"
Therapy Dog (In Training)
Junip works tirelessly to make sure that everyone feels welcome and loved at VNM. A rescue from SE Texas, she has had quite the journey to get to where she is today. She is a Belgian Malinois, Siberian Husky, and German Shepherd mix. At work, she provides lots of kisses and and loves to be pet. In her free time, she enjoys mountain biking, a good stick, learning new tricks, and eating bone broth pupsicles.
She won't be a fully certified therapy dog until around age 2, so we appreciate your patience during her training years.
We understand that not everyone loves dogs as much as us. If you would feel more comfortable, we can arrange for June to be in another room during your visit, just let us know ahead of time. Thank you.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"I can’t believe how fabulous my knee feels after my session with you. In fact, I cancelled my appointment to have a second cortisone shot, because my knee is feeling better than ever!"
Leslie
"I had my first session with Dr. Harmon this afternoon and for the first time in a very long time, my neck and upper back are pain free. I have tried massage, chiropractic and acupuncture and none of those modalities came close to the relief I feel now. I am excited to continue with this new to me, method of healing."
Mike
"Dr. Harmon literally saved my life! I had gone to Internal medicine, gastroenterologist and rheumatologist and out of all those doctors she figured out what was wrong with me. They all failed me and i had no idea that doctors only do a small set of tests that only cover typical things that most patients get. Mine was not typical and i would still be ill today with my gut issue if it was not for Dr. Harmon. She does expanded testing for gut issues and other health concerns. If your gastroenterologist can't figure out your gut issues she can! Counterstrain is also amazing, it can fix reduced range of motion and turn off your light or flight if stuck on and it can fix a mysterious pain in your body that your doctor cant explain. She did all of that for me! Hands down the best doctor I have ever seen!!!"
Susan
"I have been a client of Dr. Rachel Harmon for several years due to hip and back pain issues. When I first came to see Dr. Harmon I could barely get on to her exam table and my fiance and I were looking for a walker for me to get down the aisle (I was 39 at the time). Within a few weeks of treatment I was able to walk down the aisle without the need of a walker or cane. I'm 43 now and I haven't picked up my cane in a while and I can get on Dr. Rachel's table with ease. Give Dr. Harmon your time and trust and she will change your life, just like she has changed my life."
David
